Retrieving Recordings:

To listen to sound recordings or view videos, users look up call numbers in HOMER (UConn Libraries' catalog), then check out the recording(s) at the circulation desk. Please consult our Audio Recordings page for more information about our collection and strategies for searching HOMER.

Loan Periods:

Graduate and honors students may have recordings for fourteen days, and faculty have a semester. As of fall 2005, the library began circulating sound recordings to undergraduates and Community Borrowers for three days. These patron groups may have up to four recordings charged to their library accounts at any given time, regardless of the number of transactions. Recordings may be removed from the library. Please consult our online chart of circulation loan periods and brief guide to Music Library fines and notices (PDF) for more specific information regarding loan periods for sound recordings. See also information for alumni and community members.

Returning Recordings to the Library:

All patrons must return recordings to the Music & Dramatic Arts Library circulation desk by closing time on the date printed on the charge slip. Do not use the book drop or return recordings to other libraries. If portions of the item are missing (e.g., disc, notes, case), the item will not be checked in until all parts are present; fines may accrue. See circulation and loan period (PDF) policies for more information.
