STUDENT EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

Students who have not previously worked for the University CANNOT be hired without proper identification. If you are hired for a position, you MUST bring identification with you.

Students under age 18 must have working papers. If you do not already have working papers, they can be obtained from the University's Student Employment Office. A birth certificate with raised seal is required.

WORK STUDY VS. STUDENT LABOR

Work Study is a type of award granted by the Financial Aid Office. When you received your financial aid award notification, Work Study may have been listed as one type of aid that you were offered. If so, you must have responded to accept your financial aid award in order to be eligible to apply for a work study job. You must have been hired for a job before the work study deadline (some time mid-October), or your work study award will be rescinded.

If you were not offered Work Study in your financial aid award letter, or if you rejected your aid or did not respond to the notification, you do not have Work Study. You are only eligible to apply for Student Labor jobs.

FALL 2007/SPRING 2008

All library jobs are now posted on the Student Employment website at http://www.studentjobs.uconn.edu.

This site offers a web interface that allows you to search for jobs based on criteria you specify (e.g., work study, student labor, keywords, salary, hours per week). Once you find a job you want, you can apply for it online from the same site.

NEW SERVICE! While on the Student Employment site, be sure to sign up for JobMail, which is a link in the left-hand sidebar of the webpage. This will allow you to pick job criteria and have an e-mail sent to you whenever a job that matches your criteria is posted!
